R.D Offutt Farms Seasonal Truck DriversThe primary responsibility of R.D Offutt Farms Seasonal Truck Drivers is to haul product from designated farm bins to the customer. All drivers are required to hold a valid driver's license. Daily timekeeping logs, potato load logs, pre- and post-trip inspections, and scale weight tickets are also the driver's responsibility. Drivers are responsible for loading and unloading trucks, including operating a remote control for loading.Job Duties:Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working orderReport vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to managementCollect delivery instructions from the trucking office and field supervisors, verifying instructions and routesDrive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver productCheck conditions of truck box after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damagePerform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairsCheck all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurateManeuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positionedSecure cargo for transport, using tarpsLoad and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessaryCommunicate effectively with management and other team membersFollow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbookConduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of R.D.
