Design Intern

The Design Intern will collaborate with the creative director, content writers, marketers, and developers to create visual assets across our websites and digital channels. This part-time internship runs for a 4-month term, offering up to 29 hours of work per week. The position pays $14.00 per hour, which will increase to $15.00 per hour in September to stay aligned with Florida’s minimum wage guidelines . Designed as a hybrid role, it includes on-site collaboration from Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility of remote work on Fridays. Day-to-Day Assist with creating graphics, illustrations, and visual assets for websites, articles, social media, and digital marketing campaigns. Create and resize digital assets for different platforms, screen sizes, and content formats. Assist with website design updates, including page graphics, banners, icons, and other visual elements. Organize and maintain design files, templates, and creative assets. Help research current design trends, visual styles, and digital marketing practices. Learn how design decisions can support user experience, engagement, and business goals. Make revisions based on feedback from the creative director, marketers, and other stakeholders. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and digital content. Work closely with the content and marketing teams to ensure that creative aligns with brand messaging and resonates with target audiences. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree, certificate, or coursework in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience. A portfolio or examples of design work, including school, personal, freelance, or previous professional projects. Basic understanding of design principles such as typography, color, composition, hierarchy, and spacing. Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, or similar platforms. Strong attention to detail and an eye for visual consistency. Ability to take direction, accept constructive feedback, and apply revisions. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to experiment with new ideas. Interest in digital marketing, websites, content, branding, or user experience. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment. Adept at taking direction and applying it with accuracy and innovation. Familiarity with Figma or other UI/UX design tools. Basic understanding of responsive design and designing for different screen sizes. Experience creating graphics for social media or content marketing. Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS or how websites are structured. Experience with photo editing, illustration, or motion graphics.
