Clinical Technician

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician to join the team in our Emergency Department. This role will be full time, Night Shift (7pm-7am). Three 12-hour shifts per week. Days vary each 6-week schedule period. Candidates must be available to work any day of the week when scheduled. Candidates must be able to attend a paid 6 week training period, attending an initial Monday-Friday training schedule. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation Job Responsibilities Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (e.g. bathing and feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output. Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with Inova Health System policies and procedures. Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned. Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills. Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner. Partners with Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to provide employee with the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care. Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IV's, and other clinical skills, which will be included in initial 6-weeks of training. Performs additional duties as assigned. Shift :Nights (7pm-7am) Schedule :Three12-hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation) Training :Candidate must be able to attend a 6-week training period, including virtual training sessions, classroom training days in Falls Church, VA (8:00am-4:30pm), and shifts on their unit. Clinical Technician Minimum Requirements Experience:Healthcare experience preferred. Education:High School graduate or equivalent. Certification:BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association). Training:Candidate must be able to attend a 6week training Preferred Qualifications Clinical Technicianexperience in a similar unit/facility preferred.
