About the Position

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Cardiology)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:45 PM start) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday flexibility required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown unit managing cardiovascular surgery, CHF, and related diagnoses including post-op CABG, thoracotomy, pacemakers, ablations, and chest tubes
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, and others per protocol>
• Read and interpret telemetry strips using Philips monitoring system
• Manage patients on BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen
• Support high-volume room turnover with frequent admissions and discharges within a single shift
• Float to ICU as needed, taking stepdown-level patients; may assist with tasks in the ICU if not carrying ICU-level assignments

Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown experience in an acute care setting (required without exception)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (per travel contract requirements)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience pulling pacer wires (orientation provided if not currently able)
• ICU-level nursing experience (enables broader floating opportunities)
