Duke Women’s Basketball is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and dependable part-time professional to assist with all aspects of daily basketball practice operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working as part of a team, and takes pride in supporting student-athletes and coaches.

What You'll Do

Practice Preparation

• Prepare and set up practice equipment and supplies prior to each session.
• Fill, transport, and position Gatorade water coolers and carts.
• Organize and stock the manager bag with essential practice items.
• Set up basketball racks, towels, and other required equipment.
• Deliver player water bottles from the locker room to the practice court.

Practice Support

• Assist coaches and student-athletes during Division I basketball practices.
• Rebound, pass, and support basketball drills as directed.
• Monitor the court and promptly address safety concerns, including wet spots.
• Manage additional basketballs and practice equipment throughout drills.
• Provide support for individual shooting workouts as needed.

Post-Practice Operations

• Break down, clean, and properly store practice equipment.
• Return towels and scout team jerseys for laundering.
• Dispose of used practice materials and assist with facility organization.
• Help ensure practice areas remain clean, safe, and ready for future use.

Work Schedule

Practice schedules vary based on team travel, game schedules, player availability, and coaching needs. Typical practice sessions occur between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. , with staff arriving approximately one hour before practice and remaining afterward to assist with cleanup.

During the basketball season (November through April), practices are generally held on:

• Tuesdays
• Wednesdays
• Saturdays

Additional morning shootarounds are conducted on either Thursdays or Sundays depending on team travel schedules.

Position Details

• Seasonal, part-time position
• Benefits-ineligible
• Maximum of 19.9 hours per week
• Anticipated employment period: September 2026 through early April 2027

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $20.00.
