The Role As a Radiation Therapist with UVA Health, you will be part of a dynamic and highly collaborative care team, delivering advanced radiation treatments while supporting patients throughout their cancer journey. This role blends technical expertise with compassionate patient interaction in a fast-paced, high-impact clinical setting. In an average day, you will: Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments using state-of-the-art technologies, ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to coordinate individualized treatment plans. Provide empathetic, patient-centered care , supporting patients and families through complex and emotional treatment journeys. Operate advanced systems including: Varian TrueBeam with RapidArc, HyperSight, and Identify ViewRay MRIdian A3i for MRI‑guided radiation therapy Total skin electron therapy (TSET) Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all clinical protocols and regulatory standards. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program. Experience: No experience required. Licensure: American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) certification within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Physical Demands Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $37.47 - $59.95 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
