Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to provide exceptional care to patients in a critical access setting. This role requires an individual with a proactive approach to nursing, capable of jumping into the team after the second shift.
Contract Details
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Night – 3x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00)
- Weekends: Required every third weekend
Job Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:
- Assisting with sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NST), reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM).
- Administering IVs and medication as required.
- Managing high-risk labor and delivery cases, including vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Caring for neonates and providing postpartum support.
- Participating in surgical cases, including cervical cerclage procedures.
- Delivering pain management strategies to patients.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current registered nursing license in Kansas or compact state at the time of submission (no pending applications).
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery required; previous charge experience preferred.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP are mandatory.
- Ability to assist and perform required nursing procedures effectively.
Additional Information
Block scheduling is available on a case-by-case review by the manager. This position does not accept first-time travelers; candidates must have prior travel experience.
Skills Required
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Strong experience in labor and delivery management, including high-risk scenarios.
- Proficient in electronic fetal monitoring and providing comprehensive neonatal care.
- Ability to execute complex nursing procedures in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
