Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in Pharmacy Practice
25% Teaching

• Responsible for instruction assessment remediation and course coordination for didactic and active-learning laboratory courses in the Pharmacy School curriculum for the PharmD program.
• Delivery of didactic laboratory and/or elective instruction in the PharmD program as assigned by the Chair of Pharmacy Practice
• Participate in and provide support to interprofessional education activities as assigned
• Participate in and provide support to objective structured learning examination/objective structured clinical examination activities
• Earn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Instructor Certification in order to provide Basic Life Support training to pharmacy students on the KU Wichita Campus.

10% Service

• Serve on department school and/or university committees as assigned
• Participate in regional state and/or national professional organizations through committee service and volunteer activities
• Support student engagement in outreach activities such as health fairs and service initiatives
• Contribute to faculty recruitment efforts through participation on search committees as assigned
• Build and sustain productive relationships with professional organizations and partners within the healthcare and pharmacy sectors
• Support student development through academic advising professional mentorship and active involvement with student organizations and professional societies.

5% Research/Scholarship

• Participate in research and scholarship resulting in conference presentations and abstracts peer-reviewed published manuscripts peer-reviewed instructional materials textbook chapters or invited lectures or presentations.
• Research may include any type of practice- or educational-based research with funding as needed to support the research.
• Research support may be obtained via direct grant or contract.

Position Overview
The School of Pharmacy seeks a full-time nontenuretrack faculty member at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor to deliver high-quality learning experiences and education for students in the PharmD program. The successful candidate will engage in teaching service and scholarly activities and will work collaboratively with the Director of Experiential Education Department of Pharmacy Practice and colleagues in the School of Pharmacy. Additionally the faculty member will provide mentorship to students and contribute to the visibility impact and reputation of the University and its programs through scholarly engagement.

In addition to faculty responsibilities this position will serve as the Regional Program Coordinator for Region 2 (Wichita Salina and Western Kansas). This role is responsible for the comprehensive coordination and support of experiential education sites and preceptors within the region. This work is essential to ensuring high-quality experiential learning experiences through effective site management preceptor engagement and continuous quality improvement. The role requires close collaboration with experiential education leadership preceptors and practice sites to support student learning and program outcomes.

The selected candidate will also have responsibilities teaching laboratory and didactic courses within the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Subject matter expertise may include but is not limited to ambulatory care community pharmacy internal medicine oncology critical care pediatrics cardiology or related areas. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. This is a full-time 12-month faculty position with required travel. The position will travel to visit preceptors in Wichita Salina and Western Kansas. This position will have set in-person days on the University of Kansas Wichita campus and/or hybrid flexibility aligned with experiential education program needs.

1. A terminal degree in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school. For pre-2000 graduates a BS degree is considered terminal.) OR a Doctor of Philosophy in a health or healthcare related field.

9. Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment
10. Evidence of professional leadership teaching excellence and team management skills
11. Must be licensed as a registered pharmacist in the State of Kansas or must obtain licensure through the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of start date.
12. Track record of effectiveness in clinical pharmacy practice
