Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a travel assignment at a busy Spine and Total Joint surgery unit. The ideal candidate will provide specialized preoperative and postoperative care, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care to spine and joint surgery patients throughout all phases of surgery.
• Assist with and manage surgical procedures including spine fusions, ALIFs, and total joint replacements.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to maintain a smooth surgical flow.
• Adhere to unit policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance.
• Utilize Meditech and CPN EMR systems accurately for documentation and communication.
• Respond promptly to on-call duties within 30-minute response time.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with at least 2 years of current acute care OR experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Possess specific experience in spine and joint procedures; preferred candidates with joint scrub experience and Meditech familiarity.
• Exhibit flexibility, strong communication skills, and excellent patient care capabilities.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced surgical environment and multi-task efficiently.
