The Proprietary Application Support Team delivers support to the Judicial Branch's employees on how to use various types of proprietary software programs efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives. This position blends hands-on technical support, proprietary application troubleshooting, system maintenance, and end-user support. This includes troubleshooting applications and software for all internal court staff. The Information Technology Support Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving in-house applications. This role focuses on troubleshooting, database interaction, scripting, end-user support, and collaboration with development and business teams to ensure stable, reliable system operations. Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Location: Des Moines, IA with possibility of hybrid remote after six months

- Proficiency with Microsoft applications , especially Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
- Basic experience with shell scripting , including navigating directories, listing files, and opening/editing scripts in QA and production support environments.
- Application Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve software, application, and interface issues; analyze logs, system outputs, and data discrepancies; document investigation steps and outcomes in the ticketing system.
- Monitoring & Data Integrity: Monitor batch jobs and real-time data exchanges; validate data transmissions using SQL queries, logs, and system checks; rerun jobs and resubmit data as needed.
- System Performance & Continuous Improvement: Maintain and enhance the performance, reliability, and usability of in-house applications; analyze trends and recurring issues to recommend long-term solutions and process improvements.
- Scripting & Technical Execution: Develop, review, and execute SQL queries and scripts to support diagnostics, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with end users, developers, leadership, external agencies, and stakeholders to resolve issues; communicate clearly and de-escalate concerns when needed.
- Documentation, Training & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain documentation, provide user support and training materials, and support team collaboration and mentoring of junior staff.
- Work Management & Follow-Through: Prioritize work based on business needs, validate fixes, perform follow-up testing, and ensure issues are fully resolved; other duties as assigned.

- Maintain and enhance new and existing systems, hardware, and software performance.
- Monitor compliance and requirements. Anticipate web and software needs; audit system behavior and monitor firewalls.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
