Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 26 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Sep 21, 2026 Length: 26 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring prior charge experience and a 26-week commitment Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit with primarily Med/Surg patient population 1:6 patient ratios Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM Every other weekend and holiday rotation required Charge RN shifts required as needed Floating required across all Cone Health facilities as needed Uses Epic EMR Utilizes Rapid Response/Code teams for cardiac monitoring and emergency response Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Previous Charge RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Epic EMR experience required Experience with blood product administration, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs required Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA required Experience with nasal cannula and isolation precautions/PPE required Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed) Additional Information Provide Med/Surg Telemetry level nursing care including EKG monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation Must accept a 26-week assignment; no 13-week option available Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility Holiday coverage required as part of rotation Study materials for the required EKG exam are not provided by the facility and candidates should prepare in advance American Traveler Job ID P-749829.
