Software Development Engineer, AWS

Salary: $158,800 - 158,800 per year Requirements:

• We require 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• We are looking for experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• We expect knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, software architecture, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.
• We need experience contributing to architecture and design for both new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
• We prefer a bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent background.
• We value experience delivering complex software systems to customers.
• We value experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, natural language processing, or strong fundamentals in machine learning and large language models, including architecture, training and inference lifecycles, and model execution optimization.
• We value experience designing, building, operating, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services.
• We value experience building rich data-driven web applications by consuming RESTful services and APIs.

• We design and build contract parsing and term extraction pipelines using AI and large language model techniques.
• We own and operate distributed systems that process confidential contractual data under strict service-level expectations.
• We build event-driven architectures using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, and DynamoDB.
• We partner with Product Managers and engineering teams to define scope and technical direction.
• We contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement.
• We write high-quality, testable code in Java, Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript.
• We build highly available and secure systems at Amazon scale.
• We mentor and help develop other engineers.

We are the AWS Contract Onboarding team, building tools and services that auto-generate and auto-ingest AWS Private Pricing Agreements. Our systems help the AWS Billing organization sign contracts faster, calculate bills accurately, and apply customized discounts for some of AWSs largest customers.
