Heavy Fabrication Specialist

Job: Heavy Fabrication Specialist Location: Jackson, AL Area Pay: $25.00+/HR DOE Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift Overview Genesis Industrial Staffing is seeking an experienced Heavy Fabrication Specialist for a well-established fabrication shop specializing in large-scale industrial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled craftsman who takes pride in producing quality work and has hands-on experience processing heavy steel for pressure vessels, storage tanks, structural components, and other custom fabricated products. This position is ideal for someone with experience operating burn tables, plate rolls, pipe rolls, or angle rolls in a heavy fabrication environment. Responsibilities Operate CNC burn tables to accurately cut carbon and stainless steel plate from engineering drawings and nesting programs. Operate plate rolling equipment to form shell plate, vessel cans, manways, and other heavy fabrication components. Operate pipe rolling and angle rolling equipment to produce components to specification. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Inspect material and finished components to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy. Load and unload material using forklifts and overhead cranes. Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment and identify quality concerns before parts move to fabrication. Assist with additional fabrication duties as needed to support production. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area. Qualifications Previous experience in heavy fabrication, steel processing, or industrial manufacturing. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Commitment to producing quality work while maintaining a safe work environment. Basic fitting and tack welding experience is a plus but is not required. Preferred Experience Qualified candidates will have experience with one or more of the following: CNC Plasma or Oxy-Fuel Burn Tables Plate Rolling Equipment Pipe Rolling Equipment Angle Rolling Equipment Forklifts Overhead Cranes Press Brakes (preferred but not required) Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and heavy plate fabrication is highly preferred.
