Registered Nurse (RN), Behavioral Health Job Type: PRN varied shifts As an RN in the Behavioral Health Department, you will provide patient-centered care, coordinate interventions, and support the department’s clinical, operational, and administrative excellence. Essential Functions Assess patients and plan care within set timeframes, documenting findings per policies. Oversee and supervise the shift. Demonstrate leadership through tasks such as delegating to groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc. Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed, delivering exemplary patient care. Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately, including notifying the physician. Administer medications in accordance with hospital policy. Interact with patients using empathy, dignity, and respect. Deliver quality nursing care aligning with treatment plan goals and hospital procedures. Assist or perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients. Additional Information Reports to: Nurse Manager or Chief Nursing Officer. FLSA: none exempt. Preferred: Prior experience in a psychiatric or chemical dependency setting, dual diagnosis, geriatric patients, family involvement, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations. Current RN license as required by state regulations. 1‑year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred. CPR certification required within 30 days of employment. De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment. Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and calmness under stress.
