Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ER experience License: License to practice as a Registered Nurse required Certifications: Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS Must-Have: - At least 6 months of trauma level 1 experience Description: The role involves providing care in a fast-paced emergency room setting. The nurse will handle a variety of patient diagnoses including trauma and burns. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. The Emergency Room has a total of 90 beds: 36 acute and 54 subacute. There are 6 trauma bays, which are not open to travelers. Travelers may float between multiple facilities if necessary. Candidates must be capable of maintaining a sterile field during procedures. A pass/fail exam on skills such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes will be part of the onboarding process. Additional educational training includes lifts, restraints, and wound care. The unit operates with 24/7 support from respiratory therapy and pharmacy. Anesthesia services are also available. There are typically 250-300 patients seen in the ER each day. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of four shifts per month. Cancellation policy allows for a maximum of four shifts to be canceled during the contract duration.
