Because this position requires close interaction, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both patients and their families. Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important. Ultimately, your unconditional support and reassurance can drive them to work hard and regain their health.A caregiver in this role works 9:00am—5:30pm.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Interpret plans and supervise patient treatments, ensuring the care, safety and well-being of the patient.Review and evaluate patient response or lack thereof to treatment and make recommendations to the physician relative to the need to continue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.Provide appropriate documentation for each patient visit.Maintain all equipment and apparatus.Maintain the order and cleanliness of the department.Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit.Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor's Degree or certificateGraduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a related international degreeCurrent state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)Internship experienceWork Experience: Internship experience required.Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our tobacco-free and drug-free environment.
