About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required. License: Current Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: BLS and NRP required, AWHONN Intermediate preferred. Must-Have: Epic experience is required. Unit accepts first-time travelers with 3+ years of L&D experience. Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in labor and delivery. The role involves working night shifts, either 3x12 or 4x12-hour schedules. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:1. Weekend work is required unless specified otherwise in the schedule. The unit is responsible for adult women of childbearing age. It has 7 labor beds, 3 triage rooms, 2 PACU beds, and 16 mother-baby rooms. Floating within the hospital is required, but floating to sister hospitals is not allowed. This unit provides a range of services related to labor, delivery, and postpartum care. The nurse will perform various clinical procedures and provide support to mothers during childbirth. Candidates should have skills in administering medications, monitoring fetal health, and supporting breastfeeding. The role includes assisting with both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable about high-risk pregnancies and the associated care. Please ensure that all necessary qualifications and experience are met before applying.
