Nocturnist Physician Hospitalist

Job Summary A hospital-based physician who only works overnight. Nocturnists are usually trained in internal medicine and have experience in hospital medicine. However, there are nocturnists trained in other such as psychiatry or family medicine.Position works on a shift-based schedule and does not accrue PTO or CME days. Job Duties Interviews patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.Performsand/orinterpretsdiagnostic testsas needed. Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness.May prescribeor administermedications.Prepares, maintains, and reviews records that includepatients'histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes. Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
