Groundskeeper

Four Winds Casino

SUMMARY:

Responsible for keeping assigned grounds areas clean and free of debris.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Maintains all trash receptacles in outdoor public areas, ensuring the area is clean and free of litter.
  • Cleans outside public areas, sidewalks, and parking areas; picks up leaves and litter.
  • Trims and prunes tree branches.
  • Operates and maintains power lawn mowers, ensuring the equipment is clean and in proper working condition.
  • Ensures all plant beds are free of weeds, dead flowers, etc.
  • Operates snow removal equipment, if necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) and grounds maintenance experience preferred.


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.


This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employees are occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.


The employee must regularly lift and/or move to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and regularly exposed to extreme heat. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.


The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. A casino environment is typically smoky.
