Java Architect

Senior Java Developer (15+ Years Experience) – Atlanta, GA or Raleigh, NC Are you a seasoned Java Developer with expertise in enterprise application development, event-driven architectures, and financial services domains? Location: Atlanta, GA or Raleigh, NC (2nd round will be F2F Interview) Role: Java Architect with AWS Contract: W2 only Visa: Any We are seeking an experienced Java Architect with strong expertise in AWS Cloud Technologies to design, develop, and lead enterprise-scale applications and cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of architecting scalable, secure, and high-performing applications using Java and AWS services. Responsibilities Design and architect enterprise-grade applications using Java and cloud-native AWS technologies. Define application architecture, technical roadmaps, and best practices for development teams. Lead the migration and modernization of legacy applications to AWS cloud environments. Develop scalable microservices-based architectures using Spring Boot and related frameworks. Implement cloud solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM. Establish CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, Gradle, Terraform, or CloudFormation. Ensure application security, performance optimization, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentor development teams. Qualifications 10+ years of software development experience with Java technologies. 3+ years of experience in an Architect or Technical Leadership role. Strong expertise in Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, and Microservices Architecture . Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS). Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment strategies. Strong database experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional). Experience with serverless architecture and cloud migration projects. Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
