Assembler Technician II on 1st shift

Job Overview Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is a global leader in designing primary and secondary flight control actuation systems (FCAS) for military aircraft, including the F‑35 Lightning II and the V280 Valor tiltrotor aircraft. Job Title: Assembler Technician II – 1st shift (6:00am–2:30pm) Reporting To: Leader, Performance Work Schedule: Onsite – Torrance, CA. Qualifications High School diploma or GED (preferred); otherwise demonstrate ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer work instructions in English. Minimum 3years or more of assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, or electronic). Experience in the aerospace industry with precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators. Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical components and test failures. Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to read blueprints. FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification is a plus. FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA’s drug and alcohol testing program requirements. Security clearance or ability to obtain one. Responsibilities Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators following assembly instructions. Adjust or align components through shimming and other mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits. Use mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers to meet assembly‑build requirements. Maintain dimensional accuracy using torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gauges and other measuring devices. Perform test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using appropriate hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment. Diagnose common test failures and recommend or perform rework to correct discrepancies. Hold problem units for engineering disposition. Ensure units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and bring any abnormal condition to the supervisor’s attention. Test repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures, utilizing mechanical or electronic measuring equipment to validate acceptance against current test requirements. Order parts as necessary using the RUR and WDS systems. Document parts replaced and work performed on data sheets. Position requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
