The UC Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati has been an independent academic unit within the College of Medicine since 1984. It is responsible for the medical direction of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Center for Emergency Care (CEC) and the Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program.

The Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Clinical Research Assistant at the West Chester Hospital location to perform the duties of carrying out our current substance use disorder and harm reduction project as well as other Early Intervention Program grant funded projects. UC EIP employs linkage coordinators who are specially trained to connect clients to external services, such as infectious disease specialists, treatment facilities and social services to address unmet social determinants of health needs. These coordinators are trained in trauma-informed and culturally competent care, with ongoing training refreshers related to best practices in client communication. 

Essential Functions

• Work in conjunction with hospital clinical staff and communicates with the treating teams, provides administrative assistance to lead coordinators and principal investigators with documentation needs and research data maintenance and reporting.
• Work to identify eligible patients and approaches them for informed consent, enrolling subjects as outlined in IRB approval protocols and performing study procedures.; 
• Completing necessary paperwork and ensure that all the appropriate data has been included. Accurately enters data from electronic medical records in a timely manner for industry-sponsored, federally-funded, or investigator initiated clinical research studies and/or care.
• Perform point of care HIV testing and link to care as needed. Will work rotating schedule that includes, day, evening and night shifts, and weekends.

Required Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Associate’s Degree.
• Two (2) years of general workforce experience.
