Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Hematology

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist to join our team in San Diego, CA. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 5:00am - 1:30pm. Job Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. CA CLS license. 1 year or more of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist in Hematology. Preferred Requirements Current or prior Labcorp experience. Additional Job Standards Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. Able to pass a standardized color blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs. Employees scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO. Pay Range: $50.00 - $58.00 per hour.
