General Production WorkerThis contract role supports a lumber processing facility that manufactures engineered wood products such as Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) and I-Joists. You will operate production equipment, handle lumber on conveyor lines, assemble construction components, and accurately follow written work instructions and production specifications. The position requires standing for long periods, consistent attendance, safe work practices, and the ability to use basic computer systems to track production data.ResponsibilitiesManufacture engineered wood products, including Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) and I-Joists, according to production specifications and quality standards.Operate production equipment such as presses, saws, and glue application machines in a safe and efficient manner.Use hand and power tools, including circular saws, nail guns, and staple guns, to assemble and process materials.Pull lumber from conveyor lines, stack materials, and organize products to support continuous production flow.Assemble construction components and accessories for framing packages following detailed shop drawings and job details.Read and follow written work instructions, assembly procedures, and shop drawings to ensure accurate production.Enter production data into computer systems to track materials, work orders, and progress throughout the shift.Maintain a safe work environment while working around moving machinery, equipment, and materials.Monitor product quality during production and report or correct issues in line with established standards.Work both independently and as part of a team to help meet daily and weekly production goals.Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of tools and equipment, and keep the work area clean and organized.Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds throughout the shift as needed.Support overtime and schedule changes as required to meet production demands.Essential SkillsExperience in production, general labor, or machine operation in a manufacturing or similar environment.Ability to stand for an entire shift of 8–12 hours while performing repetitive production tasks.Ability to read and follow written work instructions, shop drawings, job details, and production specifications.Basic computer skills to enter and track production data in computer systems.Ability to read and use a basic tape measure accurately.Capability to safely use hand and power tools, including circular saws, nail guns, and staple guns.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.Strong focus on safety and quality with a reliable work ethic.Positive team orientation with the ability to contribute to meeting production goals.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.Reliable attendance and punctuality with a proven track record of good attendance.Willingness and ability to work overtime as scheduled.Minimum age of 18 years.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior experience in a lumber processing facility or engineered wood products manufacturing environment.Familiarity with operating presses, saws, and glue application machines in a production setting.Experience assembling construction components and accessories for framing packages.Comfort working in both indoor manufacturing environments and occasional outdoor conditions with varying temperatures and weather.Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe work area around moving machinery and equipment.Why Work Here?This contract opportunity offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in a modern engineered wood manufacturing environment while working with a supportive production team. The environment includes both indoor manufacturing areas and occasional outdoor work, with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. Overtime may be scheduled based on production needs, and adherence to safety procedures, including appropriate work attire and use of personal protective equipment, is essential.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Stayton, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.61 - $24.11/hr.
