Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work is required
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work is strongly preferred
  • Valid and current School Social Worker Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Previous experience in a school setting is an advantage
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Compassionate, resourceful, and adaptable in dynamic school environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students
  • Assess social, emotional, and behavioral needs and develop individualized support plans
  • Consult with teachers and staff to promote positive classroom environments and successful learning outcomes
  • Liaise with families and connect them to relevant community resources and services
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as needed
  • Document and maintain records in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Advocate for equitable access to support services, and foster partnerships within the school community
