Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology  Part-time Far West: 3908a Far West Blvd, Ste A, Austin, Texas 78731 Eye Care for Animals Far West (ECFA) is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. About You As a Vet Tech, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery assistance, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. Job Overview: The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include animal handling, pre, and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications. Other qualifications include:

• Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required
• Licensed Technician preferred, but not required
• Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment
• Team player
• Eager to learn and is self-motivated
• Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing, etc.)
• Ability to multi-task with a smile

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $25/ hour for non-licensed techs and $25-30/hour for licensed techs .
