Responsibilities As an Occupational Therapist, you help patients get well. You assess patient needs, develop their recovery plans, and deliver occupational therapy. You design programs that restore, reinforce, and enhance physical abilities and independence. You adapt to the patient’s needs, collaborate with peers, and provide referrals to further patient care. You train patients and caregivers on skills that promote independence and productivity. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards. Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of practice.
