Robert Half is partnering with a well-established Albany-area organization to hire a Human Resources Generalist for an immediate opportunity. This full-time, temporary position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior HR leadership while supporting a variety of Human Resources functions, including onboarding, benefits administration, compliance tracking, HR systems, and payroll support. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats, learning new processes, and becoming a trusted resource within the organization, with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right individual.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support daily HR operations and administrative functions
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, new hire paperwork, and orientation
• Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and reporting
• Administer employee benefits and assist with employee questions regarding eligibility and enrollment
• Monitor required training and compliance programs
• Assist with payroll processing, data entry, audits, and payroll administration
• Track HR metrics and maintain compliance-related records
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
• Cross-train in key HR functions and serve as a backup resource within the department

What We're Looking For

• Previous Human Resources experience
• Experience with onboarding, benefits administration, employee records, and HR operations
• Payroll experience or exposure preferred
• Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

• Experience supporting multiple human resources functions, including employee relations, onboarding, and HR administration.

• Working knowledge of benefits support processes and the ability to manage confidential employee information with discretion.

• Proficiency using HRIS tools and completing high-volume data entry with a strong focus on accuracy.

• Familiarity with payroll support activities and experience working with ADP or similar payroll systems.

• Ability to prepare or maintain union reports, union dues records, or other labor-related documentation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and internal stakeholders.

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a contract assignmentQualifications
