Ballyhoo Hospitality is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Busser to join our team at DeNucci’s in Highland Park. 

Concept Overview: DeNucci’s is a Ballyhoo Hospitality concept that celebrates the tradition of Italian American dining through handmade pastas, classic dishes, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere, with locations in Lincoln Park, Highland Park, and Hinsdale. The menu reflects the comfort and generosity of Italian cooking with familiar favorites and house made specialties designed for sharing around the table.

Each restaurant is designed to feel vibrant and welcoming, creating a space where guests gather for celebratory dinners, casual meals with friends, or a glass of wine at the bar. With its warm hospitality, classic Italian flavors, and energetic dining rooms, DeNucci’s brings the spirit of a neighborhood Italian restaurant to communities across Chicago and the North Shore.

Job Summary: A successful Busser contributes significantly to a positive dining experience for our guests by demonstrating attentiveness to both guests and fellow team members. Key responsibilities of this role include efficiently clearing and cleaning tables, booths, and chairs, as well as promptly removing used dishes. Bussers also play a crucial support role for the serving staff and bartenders by setting tables, refilling beverages, and ensuring table settings are readily available. On occasion, they may also assist polishing and stocking restaurant dishes and glassware.. We are looking for busser candidates who are professional, friendly, and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Welcome all guests and ensure guests receive responsive, professional, and gracious service.
• Maintain table maintenance throughout guest experience.
• Serve water to guests and refill beverage glasses as needed.
• Place and replace plateware and silverware as needed.
• Stock serving stations with napkins, utensils, plates, glassware and trays.
• Proper clear and maintain table maintenance through dining experience.
• Reset dining room tables after each guest experience and prepare for the next guest.
• Assist dishwashers to scrape, stack, or load dishes into the dishwasher as needed.
• Vacuum, sweep or mop the dining room.
• Remove trash and recycling; replacing trash bags.
• Clean up guest spills as needed.
• Direct guests to restrooms or exits as needed.
• Assist with dishes and glassware polishing. 
• Refill water bottles for service.
• Assist bar team as needed serving as a Barback for the shift: clearing, resetting and restocking of bar supplies
• Perform closing activities such as cleaning chairs and tables, stacking chairs, preparing stations for the next shift.
• Performs all side work applicable to assigned station.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Excellent at verbal communication.
• Works well and efficiently under pressure.
• Eager to learn and grow with the restaurant.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
