Director of Software Engineering - Commodities Front Office

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Demonstrated strength as a disciplined software developer, with a record of delivering high-quality, well-tested solutions in a mature, controlled environment.
• Experience developing performant, large-scale systems using an object-oriented or functional language such as Python, Java, C++ or C#.
• Willingness to build proficiency in Python if it is not already a primary language.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work credibly with business users to understand and prioritize requirements and learn end-to-end business processes.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies, including requirements clarification, relationship building with business users, and ownership of deliverables through production.
• Commitment to testing throughout the development lifecycle and producing reliable, maintainable software.
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and growth in technical skills, business understanding and personal effectiveness.
• Initiative and ownership in overcoming obstacles, delivering business impact and collaborating across a wider developer community.
• Preferred: Application development experience in finance or investment banking, particularly in Market Risk, P&L or financial modelling.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Equities, FX, Credit, Rates, Commodities, or Index and Portfolio analytics.

• Coordinate with stakeholders and manage the global program of work.
• Take ownership of and deliver assigned projects within the program.
• Partner with and influence other technology teams to develop solutions that meet users needs.
• Deliver functional improvements and help shape design decisions across the group, continuously enhancing the platform as new capabilities are added.
• Collaborate with Quantitative Research, Structuring, Trading, Sales and Middle Office colleagues to deliver quality code in a fast-paced environment.
