Overview Full‑time Physical Therapist position supporting four Atrium Health inpatient facilities and three acute‑care facilities. Variable schedule, 40 hours per week, pay range $41.10 – $61.65. Conduct evaluations and develop individualized patient care plans, including musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary assessments. Set functional goals with patients/caregivers, monitor outcomes, and adjust treatment accordingly. Educate patients and caregivers on diagnosis, progress, treatment, and home instruction; support discharge with written home programs. Communicate professionally with staff, providers, and external stakeholders; attend multidisciplinary meetings. Complete documentation—evaluations, progress notes, education records, discharge summaries, and billing—ensuring compliance with insurance and regulatory guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized department, ensuring equipment is safe and functional. Pursue professional growth through continuing education, in‑service training, and literature review. Engage in performance‑improvement initiatives and process development to enhance patient outcomes. Float across assigned departments and locations, meeting Level 2 Enterprise Float Program requirements. Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required Active Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of employment. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Ongoing compliance with state‑mandated continuing education requirements. Education Required Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred, or educational requirements commensurate with graduation date. Experience Required Clinical experience consistent with independent physical therapy practice. Ability to manage patient evaluations, treatment planning, and clinical decision‑making independently. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Expertise in physical therapy evaluation techniques, interventions, and standards of practice. Strong clinical judgment and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to educate patients and caregivers effectively and address learning barriers. Intermediate computer skills for documentation and office functions. Demonstrated compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards. Ability to complete required competencies and meet site‑specific clinical standards. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday. Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead, and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height for reasonable distances. Push/pull up to 30 lbs. of force. Assist with patient transfers, including sliding transfers of up to 150 lbs. with assistance. Use hands repetitively for grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine‑motor manipulation. Functional use of senses and intelligible speech for effective communication. Demonstrate exercises and therapeutic activities to patients and caregivers. Exposure to electrical, chemical, blood, and body‑fluid hazards; wear protective equipment as required. Potential travel between sites and exposure to road and weather hazards. Work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor exposure; may make home visits for patient care delivery. Preferred Job Requirements Multi‑state licensure or experience practicing across multiple care settings. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Prior float, multi‑site, or diverse clinical setting experience. Demonstrated adaptability to varying clinical, operational, and patient care environments.
