Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Dover-Foxtrot, Maine.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/26/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 9 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 4x9hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 26, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a critical access hospital, requiring OR circulating experience and a ME or compact RN license.Details\n \n Critical access hospital with 3 OR suites and 1 GI endoscopy room, 25 total beds\n Case types include general surgery, ortho, podiatry, GYN, OB (C-sections), endoscopic, and urology procedures\n No robotics, high-level trauma, or neuro cases performed\n Average of 8-10 cases performed per day\n Scheduled shift Monday through Thursday, 0700-1630, department closed on Fridays\n Call requirement of 4-8 call shifts per month (1630-0700 the following day)\n 1 weekend of call per month required (Friday 0700 to Monday 0700) with 20-minute response time\n No floating required\n EMR: Cerner (preferred experience); IV Pumps: Alaris; Med Dispensing: Pyxis\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (ME state or compact) required\n BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required\n Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required; 1 year considered if experienced in all specialties offered\n Experience circulating case types listed above required\n Must be comfortable monitoring cardiac telemetry and interpreting rhythms\n Pre-op/PACU experience not required but must be willing to learn these duties on callback\n Comfortable working with EMRs and picking up new systems quickly if no Cerner experience\n Permanent address must be 100+ miles South/Southwest of the facility\n No prior permanent employment at any Northern Light Health Hospital allowed\n Additional Information\n \n Circulate surgical cases and recover patients after cases during callback shifts\n Learn to perform pre-op interviews to assist as needed\n Support team includes a Supervisor, Charge RN, 3 CRNAs (no anesthesiologist), and Respiratory Therapy\n No transporters or housekeeping on the unit; RNs will transport patients and assist with room turnover and cleaning\n 4 shifts of orientation provided in the department with buddy call option; independent call expected by the second week\n Holiday coverage limited to call only for major holidays, with staff covering most holidays\n May be on call for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday\n Guest House available for call team only if normal housing is more than 20 minutes away\n Surgical scrubs provided; free parking available\n RTO requires manager approval\n First-time travelers considered if experienced in all listed specialties\n Flu vaccination required for clearance to start\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-760613.
