Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Summary The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) delivers comprehensive care to patients and their families in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role emphasizes both independent and collaborative nursing functions in accordance with established standards and competencies specific to the ICU setting. The RN is responsible for providing care across all age groups, including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults throughout their life cycle. Key Responsibilities Perform patient assessments and establish nursing diagnoses. Identify patient outcomes and develop individualized care plans. Implement and evaluate nursing interventions based on established standards of practice. Coordinate care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Delegate appropriate nursing tasks to other team members as necessary. Engage in shared accountability for nursing practices and outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care standards and the patient environment. May be required to float to other ICUs and Medical/Surgical units as needed. Shift Information Rotating Days and Nights with a 36 Hour Guarantee. Every 3rd weekend requirement. Qualifications 1 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting. Active BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC). Preferred experience with fresh open heart surgery patients. Preferred ability to interpret cardiac rhythms. Experience with Impella and balloon pumps is preferred. Experience with adult and geriatric populations is required. Familiarity with the Epic electronic health record is required. License Requirements Must hold an active nursing license in the state of Minnesota. References Two supervisory references are required, including dates of employment.
