Description

Charleston, SC

At Chubbies, we believe life is too short for boring clothes... and boring jobs.

We're not just selling shorts, swim trunks, polos, and performance gear—we're helping people have more fun, laugh a little louder, and embrace The Weekend mindset every day of the week.

We're looking for someone who brings great energy, loves talking to people, enjoys being part of an awesome team, and knows how to turn a quick shopping trip into an experience customers can't stop talking about.

If you're the kind of person who naturally greets strangers, enjoys staying busy, takes pride in a job well done, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever the team needs you, we'd love to meet you.

You'll Fit Right In If You...

• Love helping people and making someone's day.
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset and don't wait to be told what to do.
• Bring positive energy, confidence, and a great attitude.
• Enjoy working hard while having a whole lot of fun.
• Thrive in fast-paced environments where every day looks a little different.
• Believe customer service should feel genuine—not scripted.
• Know that if there's time to lean... there's probably a customer to help.

What You'll Do

Create Legendary Customer Experiences

Every person who walks through our doors should leave smiling.

You'll:

• Welcome every customer like they're walking into your own backyard barbecue.
• Help shoppers find products they'll love (and probably didn't know they needed).
• Build authentic relationships that turn first‑time visitors into lifelong Chubbies fans.
• Deliver the kind of service people tell their friends about.

Know Your Stuff

• Become the go‑to expert on everything Chubbies.
• You'll stay up to date on new product launches, understand our collections, and confidently help customers find the perfect fit, style, or gift.

Keep the Store Looking Awesome

A great shopping experience starts with a great-looking store.

You'll help:

• Support new product launches
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and ready for business

If something looks out of place, you'll fix it before anyone has to ask.

Help the Team Win

Retail is a team sport.

You'll work alongside an incredible group of teammates to:

• Keep the store running smoothly
• Jump in wherever needed
• Celebrate wins together

When the team succeeds, everybody wins.

The Chubbies Culture

Around here, we work hard because we genuinely enjoy what we do.

We celebrate big wins, laugh often, support each other, and create an environment where customers feel like friends and teammates feel like family.

We do expect hustle, kindness, accountability, and a willingness to bring your best every shift.

If that sounds like you, you'll fit right in.

What We're Looking For

• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Outstanding communication and people skills
• A positive attitude and team‑first mindset
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment
• Someone who takes initiative and enjoys staying busy

What's In It For You?

• Competitive hourly pay
• A generous employee discount (your wardrobe will thank you)
• Opportunities for growth and career development
• A fun, supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together

A Few Things to Know

Retail doesn't stop on weekends—and neither do we.

This role requires:

• Weekend availability based on business needs
• Availability during Black Friday and the holiday season

Physical Requirements

This is an active role.

You'll regularly:

• Stand and walk for 6–8 hour shifts
• Lift and move merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds
• Bend, reach, kneel, and climb ladders as needed to stock and merchandise products
