Sterile Processing Technician

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

5x8 Evening shifts from 15:00 to 23:30.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician with at least 2 years of experience in Trauma Level I and II environments. This role will involve the operation and maintenance of sterilization equipment and ensuring that all surgical instruments are properly sterilized and prepared for use. Travelers are preferred over first-time applicants for this position.

Responsibilities

• Operate steam sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and low-temperature sterilization equipment.
• Process scopes using Medivator machines and ensure proper decontamination.
• Utilize biological indicators and chemical agents for decontamination effectively.
• Follow proper sterilization wrapping procedures and ensure accurate labeling.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of case carts for surgical procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of experience in sterile processing in a Trauma Level I or II facility.
• Active CBSPD and IAHCSMM certifications required.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Must possess a current MD or Compact license.
