Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

This role offers a balanced mix of office and field work while supporting a busy, close‑knit branch team. With strong teamwork, hands‑on collaboration, and a fun environment, this position is ideal for RTs who enjoy autonomy, patient interaction, and a supportive culture.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: 50% office, 50% road.
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; flexible.
• Driving Distance: Up to 50 miles.

Salary range

• $34 – $42 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

On‑Call transparency

• Rotation every 3rd week; primarily phone assistance with occasional home visits when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalated concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gather vital signs.
• Perform other duties as required.

What We Look For

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active OH RT license. Michigan RT License is a plus or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
