Summary

The Director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of all children within the center’s care. The Director is to work in harmony with the mission and purpose of the established goals of City Life Church. They are directly accountable for overall operational management, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, legal and budgetary considerations, and long-range planning and profitability. The Director ensures that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately and reports directly to the lead pastor of City Life Church.

Qualifications

• Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification
• Current Medication Administration Training 
• Health Screening for Child Care Professionals certification
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required
• Strong skills in parent relations, staff development, curriculum/program development, and child development
• Complete and maintain required trainings to include: Child Abuse and Neglect, Allergy Ready

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Prepare, track and administer assigned annual budget 
• Manage payments and collect tuition as agreed upon with participants
• Purchase, care, maintain, and store program supplies and materials
• Maintain and care for designated childcare spaces
• Maintain proper documentation to meet or exceed state religious exempt requirements
• Hire, develop, motivate, and retain a committed staff team passionate about the mission of the center
• Hold one-on-one meetings with staff members to learn about, gauge satisfaction, and provide career development coaching/ training
• Carry out all related duties as deemed necessary by City Life pastoral staff
• Evaluate the performance of employees, counsel in areas where improvement is needed and continually strive to improve the level of performance through coaching
• Build positive relationships with administrative staff; share information with appropriate administration
• Communicate with parents and address concerns as they arise
• Monitor and update required staff paperwork and certifications
• Observe children’s behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques
• Physical strength and ability to respond to children in supervisory positions. Must occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must maintain staff to students ratios as required by religious exempt requirements from the state
• Must maintain and recruit membership to ensure enrollment goals are met
• Oversee the center’s overall operational management, including curriculum needs, staff and facility management, legal and budgetary guidelines, and long-range planning
• Implement industry best practices
• Lead the staff to accomplish the center’s goals and foster improvement opportunities
• Cultivate an effective teaching team and promote a positive culture
• Implement strong oral and written communication skills, as well as technology proficiency
• Solid understanding of child development
• Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Develop an effective marketing strategy to support enrollment efforts and impactful branding
