Overview
Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) in a travel perioperative role based in San Luis Obispo, California. The assignment starts on 10/12/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Responsibilities
- Perform professional nursing duties as RNFA, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating perioperative patient care.
- Assist under the direction of the primary operating surgeon in the perioperative care of surgical patients.
- Coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care while meeting established standards of nursing practice.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to promote safety, quality, and continuity of care; uphold Tenet Standards of Conduct.
- Operate within facility policies and guidelines, assuming leadership responsibilities as applicable.
- Document care accurately and communicate patient status and needs to the care team and supervising perioperative director.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Perioperative nursing experience; RNFA experience preferred
- Ability to function in an RNFA role under the direction of the primary surgeon
- Strong understanding of perioperative workflow, sterile technique, and patient safety
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, rotating shift environment and to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
