RN Registered Nurse

Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Joint and Spine Unit Location Silver Spring, Maryland Employment Type Full time (36 hours weekly) Shift Night Shift; 7pm-7am Role Summary Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides professional nursing services and standards of practice in accordance with level of experience and education, state board of nursing and established policies and procedures. The RN integrates the art, science, leadership and knowledge of nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical and respectful direct/indirect healthcare services. The Nurse will focus on patient education and clinical outcomes as part of a multidisciplinary team for joint and spine patients. Key Responsibilities Effectively communicate with the patient, family, and healthcare team. Provide education to post-surgical joint & spine patients. Interface regularly with OT/PT/Case Management to enhance the patient experience and transition patients to home setting (admission, discharges, transfers). Collaborate with patients in the management of pain. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). If BSN or MSN not present on hire, employee must sign an agreement to obtain within a specific time frame. Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association). Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities. Competency in electronic patient management systems. At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting; rehab/surgical experience highly preferred. Preferred Qualifications BSN or MSN preferred. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary within the stated range based on location.
