Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department nurse position located in Bakersfield, California. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care for patients in the labor and delivery unit, supporting them through the childbirth process. The position emphasizes patient assessment, care coordination, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Valid and unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse (RN) license; 3 years of clinical experience; knowledge and experience with Cerner electronic medical record (EMR); Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitor (FHM); AWHONN Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI); current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); for employment eligibility, must maintain all health requirements as designated by the healthcare provider.
• Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program with a bachelors or associate degree; additional certifications in maternal and neonatal care preferred.
• Additional Information: The role requires the ability to perform patient assessments, coordinate nursing care, utilize Cerner EMR effectively, and demonstrate advanced nursing practices related to labor and delivery. Incumbents may be required to possess and maintain specific certificates of competency, depending on assignment. Knowledge of medical terminology, use of medical instruments and equipment, medication administration, critical thinking, and nursing judgment are essential skills.
