Service Center Representative

Location: East Neighborhood – Akers/Holmes/Hubbard Pay: 13.73/hour Note: Due to the minimum wage increase at MSU , the starting rate for this position will be $15 effective 8/9/26. Those hired prior to 8/9/26 will be brought to the new minimum. As a Service Center Representative, you will perform routine clerical support while providing customer service to all residence hall students and customers, both in person and over the phone. You will also be responsible for maintaining the reception area and processing mail and packages. You will be considered the face of the residence halls while interacting with a wide range of students and customers. Typical Duties Provide routine clerical support within a residence hall reception area Answer phones, process mail and packages, assist in maintaining records and accounts Greet visitors and clients Required Qualifications Enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year) Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service Motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision Good communication skills (written and verbal) Positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population Dependable and reliable Must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week average including days, nights and weekends Preferred Qualifications Prefer candidates to work for one full year in East Neighborhood Preferred candidates are available to work during summer break Equal Employment Opportunity Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability or protected veteran status. Physical Demands Able to move up to 20-50 pounds Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time Work Hours Average Hours: minimum of 12 hours per week average required DAY SHIFTS M- F hours (minimum of 2 shifts per week): 6:45am – 12:00am (shifts will be 3-4 hrs long, must be available to work any hours between 6:45am – 12:00am, will schedule around class schedule) Sat & Sun hours (every other weekend): 6:45am – 12:00am (may have longer shifts on weekends, must be available to work any hours between 6:45am – 12:00am every other weekend, both Sat and Sun) OVERNIGHT SHIFTS (will be required to work occasionally based on operational needs) M-F hours (minimum of 1 shift per week): 11:45pm – 7:00am , must be able to work the entire shift Sat & Sun hours (every other weekend): 11:45pm – 7:00am , must be able to work the entire shift Work Location East Service Centers (Loc) #J-18808-Ljbffr
