Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Mindify Wellness and Care We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and patient‑centered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services to our diverse client population. The PMHNP will be an integral part of our collaborative care team, delivering evidence‑based pharmacotherapy and, where applicable, psychotherapy to help individuals achieve their mental wellness goals. Work Location & Schedule Split schedule between our adult day care centers (local travel required): Perth Amboy, NJ – 2 days per week South Perth Amboy, NJ – 1 day per week Opportunity to provide additional virtual care Travel to our other locations in Northern and Central New Jersey as needed Key Responsibilities Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment & Diagnosis Conduct thorough initial psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments Perform psychiatric histories, mental status examinations, and risk assessments Formulate accurate diagnoses using DSM‑5‑TR criteria Assess for co‑occurring medical and substance use conditions Treatment Planning & Management Develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies Adjust treatment plans based on clinical response and best practices Therapeutic Interventions Provide culturally sensitive psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, supportive therapy) within scope of practice Deliver psychoeducation to patients and families Provide crisis intervention and stabilization when necessary Collaboration & Coordination of Care Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary care teams Participate in case conferences and clinical meetings Coordinate referrals and connect individuals with appropriate community resources Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation Ensure compliance with HIPAA, billing requirements, and regulatory standards Adhere to ethical and professional nursing standards Professional Development & Quality Improvement Participate in quality improvement initiatives Maintain required continuing education and professional certifications Stay current with psychiatric, behavioral health, and pharmacological advancements Qualifications Education Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program Language Requirement Fluent in both Spanish and English (required) Licensure & Certification Active RN and APRN licenses in the State of New Jersey Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC) Active DEA registration with prescriptive authority Experience Minimum of 2–3 years of post‑licensure PMHNP experience preferred Experience working in outpatient behavioral health settings with diverse populations Experience providing telehealth services preferred Skills & Attributes Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic abilities Compassionate, culturally responsive approach to patient care Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills Proficiency with EMR systems and telehealth platforms Commitment to ethical, patient‑centered care Compensation $100–$125 per session, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and credentials #J-18808-Ljbffr
