Receiver

Purpose Handles daily receipt of merchandise received from vendor trucks by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Examines shipment for defects and shortages against receiving documents. Records factors causing goods to be returned. Unloads and moves incoming shipments to storage. Forwards approved receiving documents to appropriate department for processing. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work Environment / Physical Activity While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; extreme cold and extreme heat.
