Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU/IMCU position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of neuro specialty experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Position is on the Neuroscience ICU/IMCU unit (8AB), with floating between the ICU and stepdown unit expected
• High-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex, high-volume, and diverse trauma cases
• ICU patient ratio is 1:2; stepdown patient ratio is 1:3-4
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is generally not approved
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro ICU or neuro specialty
• Strong neuro nursing background required; profile must reflect this clearly
• Experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments required
• Background in high-volume hospitals with complex and severe cases required; candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
• Current certifications required (copies must be provided for consideration)

Additional Information

• Provides critical care nursing to neurological patients across both ICU and stepdown levels of care
• Work history with no employment gaps greater than 60 days required for consideration
• EMR experience must be included in work history
