About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Neuro Medical/Surgical Unit – Tennessee

Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, including 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Highlights:

• 20-bed Neuro Medical/Surgical unit at a Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center
• Patient ratio of 6:1 with tech support on day and night shifts, unit secretary coverage from 7a-7p
• Modern equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, PCA, feeding pumps, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation in Meditech EMR system
• Floating policy prioritizes contract labor by rotation, ensuring fair distribution
• Bedside shift report and patient-centered care culture emphasizing personal connections and family involvement

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS certification required
• Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize care and multitask effectively
• Proficiency in IV starts, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Adherence to dress code: navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
