Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Pulmonary – Maryland

Start Date: December 7, 2026

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; every other weekend required with flexibility based on unit needs

Highlights:

• 37-bed Medical-Surgical/Pulmonary unit serving adult and geriatric patients with an average daily census of 37
• 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts with hospitalist coverage available 24/7
• Specialized care including 11 designated beds for chronic tracheostomy/ventilator patients
• Common diagnoses include respiratory distress, sepsis, UTI, cellulitis, change in mental status, and generalized weakness
• Teaching hospital environment with Level I/II trauma experience preferred
• Cerner charting system; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required; previous travel experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course, and TCRN preferred
• Rapid Response/Code Team experience required
• Proficiency in blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line management, PICC management, IV initiation, and phlebotomy required
• Experience with heparin management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and chest tube management required
• Tracheostomy care, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, and ventilator management experience required
• Competency with peritoneal dialysis, continuous bladder irrigation, trach collars, and chronic trach/vent care
• Isolation precautions and wound/wound vac care experience required
• Willingness to float within scope based on hospital needs
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
