Lung Cancer Bioinformatics Project Scientist Immunotherapy

Position Overview Project Scientist position in Hematology‑Oncology – Garon Lab (2025‑2026). Assistant to full rank. The role involves collaborative research on biomedical informatics and computational biology in lung cancer or leading a translational research project in cancer immunotherapy. Salary Salary range: $76,700 – $201,900. Responsibilities General responsibilities: Develop concepts, identify mechanisms, perform biomedical informatics and computational biology related to the pathogenesis of lung cancer, or develop concepts and lead analysis evaluating the potential pre‑clinical efficacy of novel immunotherapeutic approaches, prepare high‑impact publications, and assist with grant preparation. Specific responsibilities: Report directly to the Principal Investigator. Carry out analysis related to large data sets. Train undergraduates, graduate students, and new postdoctoral trainees in the laboratory. Work on multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Assist with preparation of grant proposals. Deliver effective presentations and participate actively in weekly team meetings. Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. Communicate effectively with other scientists both at UCLA and other institutions. Maintain or organize critical databases. Required Qualifications Ph.D. in biomedical informatics, computational biology, systems biology, immunology, or related fields. Documented experience working with large data sets such as DNA and RNA sequencing. Documented ability to work in a collaborative environment. Documented ability to train, advise, and lead research personnel. Preferred Qualifications At least five years of experience in biomedical research. Location Los Angeles, CA.
