Maintenance Technician IIAs The Maintenance Technician II, you will work independently on preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance for the building, building support systems, and membership program equipment. If hired, you will be responsible for performing custodial and grounds-keeping tasks as necessary to maintain a clean and pleasing appearance of the building with a strong focus on the aquatics center.Qualifications:Five years' experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, or other specialty skill areas. Demonstrated excellent skills and the ability to work independently and provide leadership with specific tasks.Vocational/Technical certifications preferred.An intermediate understanding of buildings and the operation and maintenance of building systems.Knowledge of safe and correct operation of the equipment, procedures, and techniques to perform the required tasks.Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.Knowledge of pool maintenance and operation, safety regulations and possession of a pool operator's certification. If not in possession of one, can obtain one as soon as the training course is available.Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, and coordination of workloadMust be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.Key Responsibilities:Perform preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for the building, its support systems and program equipmentOperate and maintain the swimming and hydrotherapy pools at functioning levelsOperate and maintain the heating and air conditioning systems to ensure member satisfactionPerform routine and emergency maintenance repairs as neededMaintain product inventory listings, Material Safety Data SheetsEnsure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisorAt the Y, we're all about empowering people, inspiring action, and strengthening the communities we call home.
