Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant - Full Time

UVA Pediatrics Culpeper is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant that specializes in primary care pediatrics. Practice hours are Monday - Thursday 8 am - 6 pm, Friday 8 am - 5pm, and Saturday 8:30 am - 1 pm. The schedule is 4, 10 hour days Monday - Friday with rotating Saturday hours. The clinic offers both primary care and same-day appointment visits and is Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligible. The position is outpatient only.

Responsibilities include provision of Advanced Practice Provider services, assessment and management of patients across all clinical settings, working in conjunction with the medical director and interprofessional team members to facilitate patient care, performing and documenting comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, performing diagnostic studies, performing procedures within scope of practice, ordering medications, treatments and therapies, requesting consultation and initiating referrals, evaluating patient responses to the disease process, providing information, education and support to patients/families, managing patients in accordance with established policies and procedures, reporting births, deaths, outbreaks of communicable diseases, meeting quality standards, participating in committees, reviewing activities, preparing reports, promoting the professional practice of the advanced practice group, following policies and procedures, accurately assigning codes, updating practice through continuing education, and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements include a graduate degree from an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program, license or license eligibility as an Advance Practice Provider, current Basic Life Support (BLS), and specific advanced certifications as required by the position.

Physical demands include standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, repetitive motion, proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills, attention to detail, ability to write legibly, and ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.
