General Maintenance Technician

Job Title

The successful candidate will perform general maintenance duties at various schools/locations throughout the district, and will help maintain school buildings and equipment in a condition of operating excellence.

Qualifications

Minimum of high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Post-secondary education or training is preferred.

Able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Able to lift/move 50+ pounds.

Able to walk/stand for long periods of time.

Basic knowledge of various hand tools and their uses; and

Maintain a valid TN driver's license.

No technical certifications or licenses are required, but either would be beneficial.

At least one (1) year of comparable work experience is preferred.

Benefits

This is a 12-month, 260-day position with insurance and retirement benefits. Pay will be determined by documented comparable work experience and placement on Grade 6 of the Hourly Classified Salary Schedule. Starting rate of pay will be no less that $16.07 per hour.
